A prosthodontist is a dental specialist with three extra years of training after dental school, focused on restoring and replacing teeth: dentures, crowns and bridges, dental implants, and full-mouth reconstruction. For many Medi-Cal patients in Sacramento — people who have lost teeth to untreated decay, illness, or injury — this is not cosmetic.
